My memories of childhood Easters were anchored with waving palms and singing joyfully one Sunday, doing the regular weekly things in the middle, then showing up Easter morning with a flowerdy dress and white shoes to celebrate Christ’s resurrection.

In this piece, I follow the structure of Margaret Wise Brown’s Goodnight Moon children’s book to explore elements of change in the US.

This poem is about generational differences. The thoughts are based on a conglomeration of several intense moments of love and disagreement between me and my daughters with some thematic interpretation woven in. Please share your thoughts and experiences on this topic.
